City and County of San Francisco to Award Contract to Unified TelData, Inc. as Exclusive Provider of Avaya Solutions and Services

San Francisco, CA --- The City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) has awarded a US$4 million contract to Unified TelData, Inc. (UTDI) as the exclusive provider of communications solutions and services from Avaya (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, services and systems. Another significant win for UTDI, the 12-month renewable contract is a culmination of a six-year relationship with CCSF. Factors instrumental in UTDI winning the contract included aggressive pricing, minority WBE status, and excellent standing as a Platinum certified Avaya BusinessPartner.

CCSF’s vision of adopting a distributed architecture model and a converged platform to leverage voice and data infrastructure will become a reality through this contract with UTDI. Initially implementing two Avaya S8700 Media Server upgrades which support the company’s MultiVantage™ suite of business communications applications for IP telephony, UTDI is equipping CCSF with a rock-solid foundation for a highly flexible converged solution, delivering high capacity, unlimited growth options, and redundancy. CCSF Telecommunications Manager Michael Levy summarized, "Over the past several years we have had the opportunity to work with the team at UTDI. They have a clear understanding of our needs and goals, and have successfully taken on the educator role. CCSF employs 50,000 people and is responsible for providing services to 750,000 residents, a continuous stream of visitors, and more than 60,000 businesses within its 47 square mile area.
