May 15th, 2009 – Unified TelData Inc., (UTDi) has announced the successful implementation of a seven site, Avaya SIP Based Communication Manager with Modular Messaging into the Treasure Coast Hospice MPLS network. With its newfound flexibility and functionality, Treasure Coast Hospice hopes to be able to set the standard for other organizations in the hospice industry.
After the acquisition of an additional hospice, Treasure Coast was dealing with some significant growing pains. Already an Avaya user, the addition of a second hospice onto the network was straining the previous environment. Much of the time spent by IT was plugging holes rather than delivering a solution that could meet the needs of an expanding organization.
To create the optimal environment, Treasure Coast wanted to stay with Avaya as the organization believed Avaya delivered Best of Breed solutions. UTDi was brought in to consult on the implementation. In addition to its industry expertise, UTDi also introduced Treasure Coast to a SIP Carrier solution that ultimately has saved them thousands of dollars.
Through the innovative payment solutions offered by UTDi, Treasure Coast was able to subsidize 65% of the funding for its expansion. As a result, hospice had the funds necessary to implement a long-term plan that delivered an enterprise approach to communications.
Through careful planning, problem identification and a close understanding of the culture, UTDi was able to design an Avaya solution that not only met the growing needs of Treasure Coast today, but also offered the necessary scalability to allow the company to continue on its path of growth. Treasure Coast could now focus on creating a better experience for its patients, knowing its network was sound.
“Treasure Coast Hospice had a relatively clear vision of what we wanted to be able to accomplish from the onset, we just weren’t exactly sure how we were going to get there,” said Jeff Potter, Director of IT for Treasure Coast Hospice.
“As a result of our partnerships with UTDi, we now have a system in place that caters to a very challenging environment. Avaya products offered the technical advantage we needed and UTDi showed us how to implement the solution and maximize the benefits for our unique environment.”
“This was a challenging and rewarding project. We were working with disparate systems but committed to creating the environment Treasure Coast envisioned,” said Jason Bergeron, Solutions Specialist for UTDi.
Streamlining the process to a flexible and scalable environment was the optimal target, but getting there could be outside of their budget constraints,” said Lyhn Haller, CEO of UTDi. “By introducing a SIP solution, deploying a new SIP based carrier service and offering our new Equipment for Services plan, Treasure Coast was able to get the Best of Breed solutions they needed on a workable budget.”
