Avaya Invests in Unified TelData as a Partner for Growth

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 16, 2005

Washington D.C. --- Avaya, a global leader in corporate networking solutions and services has announced it will be investing in Unified TelData under its new Small and Medium Business Partners for Growth Program. Unified TelData, An Avaya Platinum Business Partner with proven success in product marketing of enterprise-class solutions, was one of a handful of resellers nationwide selected by Avaya Inc. as a Partner for Growth focused on the Mid Atlantic region and federal vertical market. The Partners for Growth program is a structured methodology designed to improve market share within specific product sectors.

Avaya’s Small and Medium Business Solutions (SMBS) are business telephone systems that include the award-winning IP Office as well as Partner ACS and Merlin Magix legacy products. Sold to businesses worldwide via Avaya’s network of Business Partners, Avaya’s SMBS products are the focus of the Partners for Growth program. Business Partners participating in the program have demonstrated to Avaya their commitment to growing revenues within this product sector by constructing a solid marketing plan and allocating funding toward its implementation.

During the fall of 2004, Avaya approached those Business Partners it deemed successful at marketing SMBS products and requested they submit a marketing plan to contend for the Partners for Growth program. Strategic efforts proposed and selected would be co-funded by the Business Partner and Avaya, yielding an anticipated return of $10-to-$1. UTDI submitted a plan that was scrutinized by Avaya for feasibility, and ultimately was judged to be sound, practical, and worth funding.

“It is a great achievement to have UTDI’s plan accepted,” commented company President Lyhn Haller, “Based on market research for high growth areas exceeding 100 million in potential 2005 revenue, UTDI is focusing growth revenue in target markets including: Washington D.C, the federal SMB market and an expanded west coast focus. Our goals for growing business within the SMBS space are challenging, yet attainable. By co-funding our intended initiatives, including a concentrated focus on the high growth VOIP market, both UTDI and Avaya can increase revenues at an accelerated rate.” Determined to assist Business Partners in meeting their goals, the Partners for Growth team within Avaya works closely with its allied partners, measuring progress at six-week intervals. By maintaining a strict audit schedule, plans may be modified in a timely manner to ensure the fulfillment of quarterly and annual goals.
